Digital party candidate Chuck Tomasi formally made a request to Dancing With Elephants‘ podcast personality Tonya to be his campaign manager on the show’s listener feedback episode 085. First campaign trail stop for Steppe

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

Dateline: Monday, March 3rd 2008; Turin, Idaho

Since announcing his candidacy for PodPresident as a representative of the Grand Analog Party (GAP), Kreg Steppe made his first campaign stop at Steve Rogers Elementary to read to a group of 1st graders. Steppe participated in snack time by working the snack line, serving milk and cookies to the students. Afterwards he fielded questions from the group of eager children.

Shiera Sanders, a seven year old student at the school asked, “What do you and the Analog Party stand for?”. Steppe responded by explaining that The Grand Analog Party, founded in 1927, has had a log tradition of standing up for content creators rights and today that is even more relevant. As podcasters and listeners you should be concerned about your rights to produce and distribute material, and your right to be BIG MEDIA FREE! This seemed a popular topic as many questions seemed pointed toward big media’s heavy handed tactics to control all media outlets.

After the question and answer session, Steppe took time to read two books the students had preselected which included “Green Eggs & Ham” written by Dr. Seuss, and a three chapter selection from Fahrenheit 451 written by Ray Bradbury.
